Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man wanted for questioning in the murders of a Rochester woman and her young daughter has been apprehended in South Carolina.
Rochester police say the man was the boyfriend of 23-year-old Keona Foote. She and her 2-year-old daughter Miyona Miller were found dead in their Olympik Village apartment Sunday.
The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Renard Carter of Rochester. Rochester Police Lt. Tom Faudskar says the suspect was taken into custody in the Columbia, SC area Sunday night after an officer-involved shooting that he reportedly recorded. At last report he was in the hospital, apparently recovering from injuries sustained in the officer-involved shooting.
Faudskar says the local investigation is "active and fluid" and it's not known when Carter will be returned to Rochester.
