Local Beer of the Week: Alien Candy from Grand Rounds Brew Pub
I decided to grab a beer after work last week, so I walked over to Grand Rounds Brew Pub – right downtown on 3rd Street SW. The setup inside is pretty cool; nice and modern, and pretty spacious and roomy. I bellied up to the bar, spent 10 seconds looking at the beer list, and immediately knew what I wanted to order: Alien Candy.
First of all – sweet name. You had me at both “Alien” and “Candy”. The big selling point for me, however, was its description as a “Peanut Butter Milk Stout”. If you’ve never had peanut butter-infused beer before, let me tell you – it’s great.
Alien Candy is a darker beer with around 5% ABV. It goes down smoothly, and has a nice peanut buttery aftertaste to it. It’s the kind of beer that tastes really nice after a long day at work. Which, well, is most beer. But I’d definitely recommend this one if you’re feeling a little adventurous.
SUPER QUICK BONUS REVIEW: I ordered their Reuben. It was good. Would order again.
