I was pretty excited when I first heard about Pancheros, which just opened a new location in Rochester this week. Think of it like a more local version of Chipotle. They have a reputation for fresh, hand-made tortillas and delicious queso. As someone who considers cheese a vegetable, I knew I had to try it.

I made my way over there today during my lunch hour. It’s right off Highway 52 next to Mattress Firm. When I got there around 12:45PM, there was already a line from the counter all the way to the door. Luckily, the line goes by pretty fast, and I was out there door a little after 1PM. I decided to go with a chicken burrito with black beans, salsa verde, cheese, sour cream, and a spoonful of queso. It ended up costing around $8, but it’s big enough for two servings. Did I end up eating the whole thing in one sitting? Of course I did. Pray for me, because this beast is currently inside me:

It's pretty tasty, and the tortillas and queso really do live up to the reputation. I’d go back again, but will probably lean towards getting a Chicken Bowl or Quesadilla next time. Serious case of food coma over here.
