A Cool Rochester Connection To The New Soil Video

Any band that has a career which spans twenty years - is legendary in my book. Soil has exactly that.

The native Chicagoans will release Scream: The Essentials (on September 15th) to celebrate a long career, which includes a new single. It's a cover of the Spencer Davis Group's "Gimme Some Lovin' ", and it rocks! Haven't seen it? Watch it below.

Now onto some cool facts about this video. Firstly, it's a collection of twenty years of footage from their amazing career.

Secondly, it's the product of Rochester's own Cody Hoffman, who you know from City of the Weak. That's right - he edited this piece of amazing work! Cody explained on Facebook, "It was super challenging, yet fun, taking 20 years of footage and boiling it all down to a 3-minute video!" Way to go Cody!!! I'm still trying to figure out how he got some intense spider-crawls on the ceiling in there!

By the way, City of the Weak just might be making some stops in Rochester this fall. Keep your eyes and ears peeled!
