Free Beer & Hot Wings: CNBC Host Outs Apple CEO Tim Cook [Video]
New York Times columnist James Stewart was a guest on CNBC the other day, talking about former BP executive John Browne's book, "The Glass Closet: Why Coming Out Is Good for Business." The book focuses on gay executives, including CEOs of big companies.
During the segment, Stewart commented on how he called many companies for comment, but no one was willing to go on the record about the topic. CNBC "Squawk on the Street" co-host Simon Hobbs then spoke up, saying that he was fairly confident that Apple CEO Tim Cook was out of the closet. Everyone just kind of froze, and things sure got awkward.
It has been rumored for a while that Cook is gay, but he has never publicly confirmed it. Watch the awkwardness below.
