Did This Delta Jet Land on a Downtown Street in Minnesota?
Sure, there was a lot of snow across Minnesota earlier this week, and, yes, the Minneapolis airport was closed for a few hours on Monday, but did that force a Delta jet to land right on a busy street in downtown Minneapolis? A picture making the rounds from a Twin Cities journalist makes the case that it did.
Check out that picture below, embedded in a Tweet from WCCO-TV veteran journalist, Pat Kessler. It appears to show a Delta jet, sitting right there out his window, on a street in downtown Minneapolis.
The picture isn't Photoshopped-- that I can tell, anyway-- so, yes, that plane is actually sitting on a street in Minnesota's biggest city, right there on the Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis.
But, I'm guessing it didn't LAND there. Outside of the fact that landing a jet amongst all the buildings in downtown Minneapolis would be almost impossible, as Mr. Kessler points out, it most likely has something to do with preparations for the 10 days of Super Bowl activities, all leading up to next Sunday's Big Game at U.S. Bank Stadium.
But, seeing a jet parking on the street out your office window is still kinda cool. (Unless you work at MSP or RST, that is. Then, you're probably used to it...)
