Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – There's a threat of stormy weather facing southeastern Minnesota. And that has led to a cancellation of the popular Thursdays Downtown.

The National Weather Service says there is a "higher severe risk" for the region into Thursday evening for "hail, strong damaging winds, heavy rain, and localized flooding."

The National Weather Service says “showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2 pm” for the Rochester area. The Weather Service says showers and storms could persist into Friday morning and dump 1-2 inches of rain in the Rochester area.

Back-to-back rainouts. 

Stormy weather also led to a cancellation of Rochester’s Thursdays Downtown last week.   Rochesterfest events could also be affected today.

Very warm weather is still expected for the weekend with highs climbing into the low 90s. t will also be very humid.
