What’s Your Take on the New Foo Fighters Concrete and Gold?

I pre-ordered mine and it arrived on Weds. I listened to it immediately. The record dropped on Fri. 09-15-2017. What's your take? SOUND OFF!

I had forgot that I had ordered this CD months ago, along with the tickets I was able to lock-down for the upcoming Nov 11th performance at the Denny Sanford Center in Sioux Falls, SD.. So when it arrived this past Weds via USPS. I was thrilled!

History pretty much shows that everything Dave Grohl touches turns to gold, or platinum. The Foo Fighters global appeal is indisputable, and that's how I think this record will impact, despite some sharp turns in this collection of tracks.
Present are many of same markers that dot the Foo Fighters landscape, like break-neck STOPS & STARTS, searing vocals & riff-based song structure. Grohl and company have always been able to get their message across lyrically, but there are elements in this new music that is a departure from past efforts. (I like that!) \m/\m/

Of course you've heard the debut 'Run', and now, 'The Sky Is A Neighborhood' right here on Z-Rock & The Rock Of Rochester. I'm currently on my 4th spin of this entire disc. It did NOT blow me away on the 1st spin, but it's growing on me big-time now on the 4th time thru. In addition to the aforementioned tracks, 'La Dee Da' is a stand-out song for me, along with 'Sunday Rain'. In these old ears it's clear to me Dave, Taylor & company has enjoyed hanging out, and working with Paul McCartney.
