This Weekend’s Hopped Up Caribou Festival Looks Pretty Fun

If you don’t have any plans this weekend, but you’re a fan of beer, food, live music, adventure, and road trips – then I think I have something that might interest you.

I hadn’t heard of the Hopped Up Caribou Festival until today, but it looks pretty sweet. It takes place Friday through Sunday at the Caribou Highlands Lounge in Lutsen, Minnesota. After looking through their website, it looks like one big beer tasting, with breweries from Minneapolis, Duluth, Fargo, Wisconsin, and various cities in Minnesota all showing up. That’s cool on its own, but this weekend festival also offers food (including a pig roast), concerts, and activities like canoeing, biking, and gondola rides. Not a bad way to spend a weekend.

So how about the cost? I’ll be honest, it’s a bit pricey if you’re looking at a weekend package - $138 without lodging is a little steep for me – but tickets for the Saturday beer garden at $42 isn’t terrible. It’s more of a question if you want to drive 5 hours north, but I’m personally giving this some thought. If you want to know more, you can check out their website here.
