Strike at Mayo Clinic’s Albert Lea Campus

Albert Lea, MN (KROC AM News) -  A first for Mayo Clinic. Union workers at Mayo’s Albert Lea campus are scheduled to hold a one day strike Tuesday.

Organizers say this is the first time Mayo has faced an Unfair Labor Practice strike.

The two sides have not been able to agree on a new contract. The hangup is a plan by Mayo to allow it to modify employee benefits in a labor contract without first getting approval from the union.

A total of 85 workers are expected to take part in the walkout.
