Steel Panther Blow Fans Away With Live Song ‘That’s When You Came In’
Everyone's favorite hair metal jokers are back with a new song off their forthcoming live acoustic album, Live From Lexxi's Mom's Garage. Mixed in with some of the Steel Panther's most classic tracks are four new songs which will only be featured on the album. The first taste of new music comes by way of "That's When You Came In" and manages to be just as crude as some of the band's anthemic heavy tracks.
Satchel introduces the song as something "we've never, ever played that you've never even heard!" "That's When You Came In" starts off with a punch, for an acoustic song at least, with outrageous frontman Michael Starr putting some power behind his voice. The lyrics are everything one should expect from Steel Panther and if you're working it might be best to save this one for when you're at home ... with the doors shut and headphones on.
Heavy on oral sex references, like so many other Steel Panther songs, they put a spin on their gutter humor during the chorus and make those in attendance feel guilty for letting their minds make assumptions. Starr sings about debating retiring as a washed up musician, but everything changes due to one girl who "came in and blew me ... away."
Bassist/mirror holder Lexxi Foxx commented on the album as a whole, stating, "It was so much fun playing our songs on these new wooden guitars in my mom's garage! Satchel says that he might be my new dad, but I'm not really sure what that means!" Lexxi's mom is played by former video starlet Bobbie Brown, who is best known for appearing in Warrant's "Cherry Pie" music video.
Live at Lexxi's Mom's Garage will be out Feb. 26 on Open E Records and will be available as a CD and CD/DVD package. To pre-order the album, click here.
