Steel Panther Toss ‘Poontang Boomerang’ Out on the Street [Music Video]
Steel Panther's marriage of crude locker room humor and masterfully written hair metal is now being spread out across their fourth studio album, Lower the Bar. Clever as always, they've released a somewhat NSFW music video for the new track "Poontang Boomerang," which fittingly premiered at PornHub.
Before the music starts, we get a bit of a background narrative to the song. Frontman Michael Starr wakes up next to a scantily clad woman, leaving the bedroom to get some coffee. In the kitchen, he converses with his kitten, who informs him the girl is "nuttier than squirrel s--t." This feline says she could mess up his TV show, so he decides to lead her out the door.
But there's one problem. She won't leave. Turning back to face the narrow window aside the door, she presses her face against the glass, crying, "I love you!" This cues the music to come in, which offers some light rhythm riffing, which serves as Starr's platform for more of his unparalleled lyrical wit. Unsurprisingly, the band also happens upon a closet full of women dressed in lingerie, so don't watch this video if you're on the clock!
Lower the Bar is the successor to 2014's All You Can Eat and will be released on March 24 through Kobalt Music Recordings, pushed back one month from its original target of Feb. 24. Steel Panther announced the album in conjunction with the release of a music video for "She's Tight," a Cheap Trick cover. Pre-orders can be placed at the band's webstore.
