Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Travel conditions are slowly improving across southeastern Minnesota, but some major highways remain closed and no travel is still advised in most areas.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is now indicating that Highway 52 from Pine Island to just south of Rochester has been reopened, along Highway 14 from Kasson to Eyota, and a stretch of Highway 63 just north of Rochester. While those highways are now open, MnDOT is still advising against traveling on them.

I-90 from Rochester to Fairmont is still closed, but the section east of Rochester is now open, while I-35 south of Owatonna into Iowa is still closed.

As of 11 AM, there are only two major highways that have been upgraded from no travel advised to completely covered by ice and snow. They are Highway 14 from near Dodge Center to the west of Owatonna and Highway 61 from just south of Winona to Lake City.
