Slick Conditions Contributing to Crashes Across SE Minnesota
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The light snow that coated roadways across southeastern Minnesota this morning has kept emergency personnel busy.
The Minnesota State Patrol and the State Department of Transportation have reported numerous traffic crashes and vehicle spinouts in the region, including a pile-up on I-35 in the Owatonna area that has shut down the northbound lanes of the freeway. MnDOT is reporting multiple semi-trucks jackknifed and the section of I-35 could remain closed into the afternoon.
The slick driving conditions are the result of about an inch of snow that has left many major roadways completely covered by snow and ice. The National Weather Service is predicting another round of light snow on Friday.
