Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester McDonald’s restaurant was temporarily shut down early Friday due to a fire.

It was reported around 4:30 a.m. at the store located near the 55th St and Highway 52 interchange.

The fire began behind a deep fryer and spread to the oil and a nearby wall. The three employees there at the time were able to extinguish most of the fire before Rochester firefighters arrived. They were then safely evacuated as the fire was put out and the building was ventilated.

Damage was limited to the fryer and the immediate area. Preliminary damage estimate is less than $10,000.
