MN Man Drives Dog to Washington to Reunite w/ Terminally Ill Owner
A Minnesota man is helping out a terminally ill stranger. The terminally ill woman had to go to Washington state. She attempted to board the plane with her dog, Bailey, but couldn't. Bailey is a pug mix and her breed has issues with breathing while at high altitudes.
The woman dropped Bailey off at a vet and, WCCO writes, "that’s when Ryan Chukuske stepped in." Ryan is a volunteer at Spots Last Stop Canine Rescue and when he heard about the situation he volunteered to drive Bailey to Washington to be reunited with her owner.
Ryan has a great outlook on life and doing kind things for others. This is what he had to say to WCCO:
“I didn’t hesitate. I just think it was one of those things where everyone deserves good things to happen to them regardless of where you’re at in life, and especially maybe at the end of your life. So if having your dog with you is what is really important to and for you, then I am going to make that happen."
Ryan is paying for the whole thing including a car rental, gas, a flight back to Minnesota. Ryan's wife has put together a GoFundMe to help out which has more than doubled its goal of $1,000.
