Most small Minnesota communities have their own special celebration. Blooming Prairie's Old Fashioned Fourth of July has a parade like no other. Hogfest in Claremont has to one of the best names for a celebration anywhere.

One Minnesota town makes the list of Travel and Leisure's Seven Small Towns You Must Visit in the U.S. Grand Marais, in Minnesota's Arrowhead region, made the grade thanks in part to some of the festival events they host.

Travel and Leisure highlights the Moose Madness Festival and Fisherman's Picnic that Grand Marais hosts each year as reasons to pay a visit. A cool breeze off Lake Superior is included as a positive. After the humid weather we just endured, it might be worth the five-and-a-half-hour drive from Owatonna to the North Shore for a pleasant breeze.

Other towns on the list include Crested Butte, Colorado for its Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. Personally, my family visits Cuchara, Colorado most summers and we enjoy their quaint Fourth of July parade through the little town which feels like it's straight out of an old Western movie.

Washington, Connecticut is cited for its New England small-town charm. Eureka Springs, Arkansas has streets lined with Victorian architecture. Hudson, New York is filled with nature and wildlife despite its close proximity to the Big Apple. Anacortes, Washington is considered an "artsy community of sea lovers" according to the web post. Fernandina Beach, Florida rounds out the list for its beautiful coastline and historic downtown. View the full story from Travel and Leisure here.

What small town out there is your little treasure?
