Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - While major highway projects on I-90 in Freeborn County and Highway 16 south of Rochester are winding down toward completion, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is scheduled to start working Monday on a project that will greatly impact southbound traffic on Highway 52 in an near Rochester.

MnDOT says crews will be repaving the southbound lanes of the highway from the Elk Run Interchange south of Pine Island to 85th Street Northwest near Oronoco Estates. The project will also include repaving the off and on-ramps at the 55th Street Interchange in Rochester.

That work will require detours beginning September 24th. The ramps on the north side of the interchange will be closed for two days, followed by another two-day detour involving the ramps on the southside of the overpass.
