Grand Jury Charges Rochester Man With First-Degree Murder
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Grand Jury has issued a first-degree murder indictment against one of the three cousins accused of the murder of a Rochester man last fall.
27-year-old Malcolm Woods is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment Monday morning. He is accused of fatally shooting 38-year-old Brandon Arndt in the entryway to the victim’s residence at Bob’s Trailer Park in southeast Rochester in the early morning hours of September 10th. The charges allege Woods and his two cousins mistakenly believed Arndt had something to do with the medical emergency that put their grandmother in the hospital with a life-threatening medical condition.
The two other cousins, 20-year-old Darien Klindsworth-Woods and 34-year-old Keilah Parsons, are facing second-degree murder charges for their alleged involvement in the fatal shooting. An Olmsted County Judge recently shot down some evidentiary challenges presented by the defense attorney for Klindsworth-Woods and he is scheduled to appear for a plea hearing on April 19th. Parsons has a pre-trial hearing on Thursday morning and her trial is currently scheduled to begin on April 15th.
