Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Gasoline prices in the Rochester area have gone up again and are getting closer and closer to $3 a gallon.

Prices went up 7 cents a gallon Monday night and the current average for regular in Rochester is $2.80.  

The average price a month ago was around $2.50. They were around $2.25 a gallon a year ago.

The GasBuddy website lists the current average price for regular in Minnesota at $2.75 a gallon.

Experts have been predicting higher prices for the upcoming summer driving season, which could mean $3 a gallon in Minnesota. The last time they were that high in Minnesota was in December 2014.
