Woman Arrested For Assaulting Rochester Police Officer
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Several Rochester police officers were involved in a situation involving an apparently intoxicated woman Thursday afternoon.
It began as a call about an intoxicated woman outside the Public Library.
Officers arrived to find the woman walking around with a bottle of liquor and yelling. The woman ran off and was found near the Art Center.
When the officers realized the woman was wanted on a warrant for assaulting a police officer during an earlier incident, they tried to take her into custody. The woman grabbed one of the officers by the neck and began throwing punches at the others before a taser was used to bring her under control. She was arrested on a new charge of assaulting an officer.
The woman was identified as 43-year-old Torria Wells, who is apparently homeless.
