For the first time in a long time, we’ve got good news to report about Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin. According to a statement posted on the band’s Facebook page, Scantlin is in rehab and “is doing very well.”

The singer has struggled with many years of substance abuse and has very publicly run into trouble because of it. Over the past couple of years, the musician has canceled multiple shows mid-set, was in a standoff with 30 police officers, was arrested for skipping a court date, got a visit from the bomb squad and was arrested for attempting to board a plane with a BB gun.

With a myriad of legal issues and personal troubles in Scantlin’s past, many wrote him off as a lost cause or yet another statistic of rock and roll excess. Thankfully, Scantlin is giving himself a chance at redemption. Puddle of Mudd recently posted on Facebook:

Happy Holidays to all our fans!!!
