Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester set one weather record and tied another Wednesday.

The low temperature of 6 degrees tied the April 4th record set in 1995. The high temperature Wednesday was a measly 23 degrees - the lowest high temperature for the date. The previous record of 25 was also set in 1995.

It will be a bit warmer Thursday but very cold Friday and Saturday and then - another snowstorm could hit Sunday!

The Twins will be toying with their coldest home opener ever.

Thursday’s game time temp will barely be above freezing.

The coldest game ever for the team was on Apr 17, 2014. When Kyle Gibson threw the first pitch in that game, it was only 31 degrees. Ironically, he starts Thursday’s game. The team’s next two games will also be cold and perhaps snowy on Sunday.

The 2013 home opener was the coldest so far. The high that day was 36 degrees.
