Warrant Issued for Wes Scantlin’s Arrest Following No-Show in Court
Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin's slide continues. After being a no-show for a hearing before a judge today (May 20), a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
As TMZ reports, neither Scantlin nor his attorney made their way to today's scheduled proceedings. TMZ also alludes that this appearance was related to Scantlin's arrest in December of 2015 for driving with an expired registration as well as possession of a controlled substance.
A few weeks ago, the singer was arrested for a separate incident during after a Puddle of Mudd show on April 30. He was jailed with bond being set at $250,000. That arrest was in conjunction with a second failure to appear in court stemming from charges for trespassing and vandalizing his former home, which went into foreclosure. The frontman reportedly smashed a window with a hatchet and destroyed audio electronics, surveillance cameras and an alarm system on Jan. 9 of this year.
The singer's arrest record is lined with a laundry list of other charges, including trespassing and vandalizing his former home, DWI / DUIs and even riding the baggage carousel at an airport. Scantlin has also made headlines for multiple mid-show meltdowns where he accused a fan of stealing his house, shutting down a show after verbally abusing the venue's sound guy and mused with the crowd from a chair onstage as the rest of his band walked offstage during another set. He managed to avoid charges for being involved in a standoff with 30 police officers, however. While attempting to jump-start a car, Scantlin hurried from the driveway and into his house when the authorities arrived, refusing to come out for two hours.
