Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Minnesota non-profit organization that is suing the Rochester Golf and Country Club has announced it has rescheduled the event that led to the lawsuit.
The Center of the American Experiment had booked space at the Rochester venue for the event which was to be focused on crime.
The March 15th event was to have included a panel discussion with Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgerson and Rochester Police Chief Jim Franklin on rising crime rates in Minnesota and the Rochester area “along with proven strategies to reduce crime.”
The event was booked a month earlier but the Twin Cities-based conservative think tank was informed on March 13th that the golf club had canceled the rental agreement.

The organization then sued for breach of contract. Its civil complaint alleges “RGCC canceled the Event because of a twisted and falsehood-laden Change.org petition spearheaded by Defendant Erin Nystrom and signed by a few politically active club members.” Nystrom is also listed in the lawsuit.
The organization is now promoting the same event at the Rochester Event Center. The event will be held April 26th - one day before the lawsuit is scheduled for a hearing before Olmsted County Judge Christina K. Stevens.
