The 2019 Minnesota Twins' magical season continues, and as they take a break for the All-Star Game, they just set another record.

The Twins have already set not one, but two records this season, both having to do with the longest games by innings in Target Field. The set the record first when they won in 17 innings on June 18th against Boston, and then they set a new record when they lost in 18 innings on June 27th against Tampa.

But what the Twins did this time is impressive because no other team in Major League Baseball has done it before. It's the home run record during the first half of the season. According to the Twins website, Minnesota broke the previous record (set by the Yankees last year) of 162 home runs hit before the All-Star break during their game on Friday night.

Then, they knocked out four more homers over the weekend to end the first half of the 2019 season with 165 home runs. And THAT is a new Major League Baseball record!

To put that feat into perspective, keep in mind that through all of last season-- all 162 games-- the Twins only hit 166 home runs. And now, they've pretty much hit that mark... and they have the entire second half yet to play!

So, fire up a version of 'We're Gonna Win, Twins,' because that line about the Twins having the "guys who'll knock the cover off the ball..." has never been truer than this year!
