Well, this ruined my birthday plans!

Okay, maybe I'm being a little dramatic here. I'd still love to eat at Terza & La Vetta, but this is a HUGE bummer. Those igloos that we were excited about (which made it comfortable to eat on the roof in the winter) are now shut down by the city.

Check out this post from General Manager Bruce Paine.

He's clearly disappointed in the decision, and we are too.

This was a cool thing happening in Rochester during the worst of its seasons (weatherwise), and it's something a lot of us were looking forward to!

No specific explanation for the shutdown has been given, but the restaurant is trying to accommodate the rule given. Paine says, "They are all fire tested, not combustible so we will continue to think of things to do or ways to use them. We will try and bring them down to Terza patio." That sounds like a good idea to me!
