Standoff in Byron Ends Peacefully
Byron, MN (KROC AM News) -There was some excitement in a Byron neighborhood early Sunday.
Olmsted County deputies were called to a residence in the 1,000 block of 8th Ave NW around 4:00 AM to check on a domestic situation. A woman at the home called 911 to report her boyfriend had just threatened her with a knife. She told deputies she had locked herself in her bedroom but the man kicked open the door and confronted her. She was able to get away and run to a neighbor’s house where she called for help.
Because the man locked himself in the home and made threats with a knife, it was decided to bring in the Emergency Response Unit. Officers tried to get the man to come out but he refused. They finally went in after him around 8:30 A.M. and he was taken into custody.
The man has been identified as 35-year-old Andrew Neseth.
He was expected to face felony assault and other charges.
