Some Rochester Area Homes May Be Without Power for Two Days
Oronoco, MN (KROC AM News) - Some customers of People’s Energy Cooperative may be without power until Saturday.
People’s Director of Cooperative Relations Gwen Stevens says crews continue to repair electrical system damage that was caused by the storm that hit SE Minnesota Wednesday. The damage was caused by snow, ice, and strong winds and includes broken utility poles and downed power lines.
As of 12:15 PM Thursday, the Oronoco-based co-op's outage mapped indicated more than 8,000 customers were still without power.
Stevens says because of the extent of damage and continuing weather problems, “some members may be without power for up to or more than 48 hours.”
She says townships with the most damage include Rock Dell, Salem, Pleasant Valley, and Racine.
