Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - An unusual heroin overdose case was reported in Rochester Wednesday.

Police Lt. Mike Sadauskis says a 44-year-old Stewartville woman called 911 around 4:00 PM to report her boyfriend had just overdosed. The woman said the 34-year-old man had taken a dose of heroin and when he felt no effects, took a second dose and moments later became unresponsive. The woman quickly administered a dose of Narcan the man had given her before he took the heroin but it failed to revive him.

A patrol officer arrived within minutes, gave the Rochester man a dose of Narcan and he regained consciousness.

The incident happened in the west side parking lot of Quarry Hill Park.
