Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The National Weather Service is now saying a developing storm system could bring 4-8 inches of slushy snow to parts of southeastern Minnesota on Saturday.

At this point, the heaviest snow is predicted to fall in areas just south of Rochester, that includes portions of Olmsted, Dodge, Mower, Fillmore, and Houston Counties. Surrounding areas are currently predicted to see 2-4 inches of slushy accumulation with winds gusting as high as 40 miles an hour.

Anyone with travel plans from early Saturday into Saturday afternoon is being advised to keep a close eye on the weather forecast because there could be enough snow to create significant travel hazards in some areas. The National Weather Service is also emphasizing that even a small change in the temperature could greatly impact the snowfall predictions.
