Rochester’s Five Best Fried Chicken Restaurants!
Friday the 6th is National Fried Chicken Day. According to the National Day Calendar, "Scottish immigrants brought their tradition of deep-frying chicken in fat to the southern United States. After its introduction to the American South, fried chicken soon became a staple. Over time, seasonings and spices were added to enrich the flavor of the chicken."
How are you celebrating? I hope with fried chicken, but if you fry it like my mom did, you'll be fixin' to buy it outside the home. So, here, according to YELP.COM, are Rochester's Top Five Fried Chicken Places!
1. Porch And Cellar - 20 4TH Street SE - Rochester, MN
Tiffany says, "The star of the show is the fried chicken. Good flavor. Crunchy and juicy. And don't forget about the biscuits with homemade butter. I had to order an additional one because the first was a tease."
2. Grandma’s Kitchen - 1514 North Broadway - Rochester, MN
I love this place, eat here all the time, but I had no clue they were known for their fried chicken. Now I'll have to try some!
3. Rooster’s Barn & Grill - 2280 Superior Drive NW - Rochester, MN
Rich R. said, "Coming from Oklahoma I was Jonesing for fried chicken. We saw Rooster's and had to try it. I ordered the broasted white and it was top notch. I mean, Oklahoma good. Prices were extremely affordable, service was good." (Making a note to research Oklahoma fried chicken.)
4. Brothers Bar & Grill - 812 South Broadway - Rochester, MN
I don't think Brother's is known for their fried chicken, and they don't have regular ol'fried chicken on the menu. They do have a ton of chicken sammiches and strips, and AMAZING chicken wings. Get 'em with the dry rub, no sauce needed. You can do the buffalo, or grab some bbq sauce, but really, they're so good all on their lonesome.
5. Culver’s - 3380 55th Street NW - Rochester, MN
Twinkiemo C. said, " Their fried chicken and fish is really good and comes with two sides."
So there you have it. The best places to buy chicken in Rochester tomorrow for National Fried Chicken Day! Have a finger-lickin' good time!
