Rochester Police Say Man Grabs Clerk By The Neck, Takes His Phone
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man was arrested by Rochester police early Friday for reportedly taking a phone from a motel front desk clerk.
The incident was reported just after midnight at the Baymont motel near Graham Park.
The 61-year-old victim says the suspect came in and asked for a room. When the clerk told the man there weren’t any, he says the suspect began staring at him. He says he told the man to leave and that’s when the suspect grabbed him by the neck, took his phone and left.
Police found the suspect several blocks away and arrested him. He did not have the victim’s phone.
The man was identified as 35-year-old Abdinajib Warsame, who is described as homeless.
