Dallas (KROC AM News) -  The candidate who was rejected last week as a finalist for Rochester police chief has responded to the action taken by the city’s Police Civil Service Commission.

Dallas Police Major Roy Alston posted his response on Twitter Wednesday, calling the background investigation that was cited as the reason his name was removed from the list of finalists “incomplete.” Alston went on to say the “Information shared by this incomplete background investigation was ultimately inaccurate and without context.“ He says it dealt with an incident with a former employer 12 years ago.

Alston has appealed the commission’s decision, which only identified him as candidate “B.”   A hearing has been scheduled June 5th and he is expected to appear in person to present his side of the story.
