Before I share this story with you, let me warn you that you may just need some Kleenex.  This story will be here waiting for you on the web, but this one may take you to that ugly cry, especially if you have kids, so get ready.

Today, a little girl in Rochester turned 7 years old!  Any other year, this celebration would have happened with friends, a party, even having grandparents around.  This year though, we are social distancing due to the coronavirus.  No friends to give birthday hugs or hang out at a fun place for a party, or even gathering around a table to open gifts, sing "Happy birthday" and eat cake.

The first responders in Rochester stepped up and made sure that Claire had something special on her birthday...and so they planned a birthday parade.  Check out the video and ALL of the cars and first responders that joined in.  Teachers, friends from school, and so many others joined in to wish Claire a happy birthday.

Claire also had a fun birthday message in her yard.  Card My Yard has been busy spreading lots of great messages around our town.  Check out their birthday message for the birthday girl!

Claire, I wasn't in the parade to wish you a Happy Birthday but I can say from all of us at Townsquare Media...we hope you have the most amazing day ever!  Happy birthday!

Rochester Police posted this to their Facebook page:

Today, we had the honor of making a 7th birthday a little brighter. Not only did this sweet little girl lose out on a birthday party with her friends but also lost her mom to cancer in January. Thankfully Public Safety was able to help with a parade past her home. She said 'This was the best day ever!' We are humbled by her joy and grateful we could bring a little sunshine to her day.

Our first responders went on another parade earlier this week too and celebrated those at Mayo Clinic.  You can watch that video here.

Do you know someone that has a birthday soon?  I'd love to help make their birthday special by saying their name on the radio.  Send me a message with their name, how old they are, and a special message for them to my Facebook page (Jessica On The Radio). or DM me on Instagram.  I'll do my best to help make their day special.
