Rochester Nonprofits Benefit From Give to the Max
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Several Rochester organizations benefited from the annual Give to the Max event held Thursday, which set a record.
The fundraising event for Minnesota non-profits and schools brought in almost a million dollars an hour during its 24 hour run Thursday. When it ended, the event had brought in nearly $21.7-million. Executive Director Jake Blumberg says the event is among the largest grassroots fundraisers in the world. He says donations have grown to $240-million during the 11 years of the event.
His message: “On behalf of the thousands of nonprofits and schools who you supported yesterday, we thank you for your generosity! The $21.6 million you so generously gave yesterday will impact communities across every corner of Minnesota in just days and for years to come. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Rochester organizations that benefitted include:
Channel One Food Bank - $12,000
Folwell Elementary School PTSA - $11,000
Commonweal Theater Co - $10,000
Ronald McDonald House - $9,300
Paws and Claws - $7,500
