Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The members of an Olmsted County Jury will return to the Government Center Monday morning to hear from the final witnesses in a Rochester man’s second trial for a fatal shooting last year.

The prosecution rested its case on Friday and 26-year-old Alexander Weiss was called to testify on his own defense to bolster his claim that he was acting in self-defense when he shot and killed 17-year-old Muhammed Rahim during a confrontation that followed a traffic crash in January 2018.

It’s anticipated the jury will hear closing arguments on Tuesday morning, and the jury will begin deliberations later in the day. Weiss’ first trial in late April and early May ended with a mistrial after the jury was unable to agree on a verdict.
