Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who was involved in a big drug bust was given a stayed prison sentence Monday.
An Olmsted County judge sentenced 26-year-old Abdullai Islaw to 65 months in prison but it was stayed for 5 years. He will be on probation for 5 years.
Islaw pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge as part of an agreement with the prosecutor.
Islaw and another man were arrested last year after police found 6,000 Oxycodone pills in the car the two were in. Police said the pills had an estimated street value of $90,000 to $180,000. At the time, police said they were similar to pills that were linked to recent overdoses. Those pills were a mix of OxyContin and the powerful opioid Fentanyl.
