Rochester Businesses Reporting Phone Scam Involving RPU
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester Public Utilities is reporting a scam that's making the rounds.
RPU was contacted by several business customers Monday morning who were suspicious about a phone call they had received. In every case, a caller told the business they would have their electrical service shut off if they didn’t make a payment - over the phone.
RPU spokesman Tony Benson says anyone receiving such a call should hang up immediately and call the utility at 280.1500.
