Red Wing Boy Dies in Hunting Accident

(Red Wing, MN) -  An eighth-grader from Red Wing Minnesota has died in a western Wisconsin hunting accident.

Pierce County authorities said Logan Hinrichs died from a gunshot wound over the weekend, while hunting in Maiden Rock.

The death remains under investigation.

Red Wing Superintendent Karsten Anderson alerted parents about the death yesterday, after students and staffers were told. Counselors have been brought in to help students and staffers deal with what happened.

Media reports did not indicate the type of hunting involved in the mishap.
