Police Delivered Preliminary Autopsy Results on Rochester Man
Rochester police say the preliminary autopsy results support the initial findings of police investigators concerning the death of a 22-year-old Rochester man last weekend.
Lieutenant Mike Sadauskis says the initial results from the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's Office indicate the probable cause of death was hypothermia. The final autopsy results on Ali Gombo, which include toxicology, are not expected to be available for another 6 to 8 weeks.
Gombo was found dead on the deck at the rear of an apartment near the Northrop Community Education Center Sunday morning. Sadauskis says investigators learned he had been out drinking with friends until the early hours of Sunday morning when he returned to the apartment he shared with a relative without a key to let himself inside. The investigation into his death is ongoing.
