Olmsted County Road 1 Reconstruction Project Begins Monday
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A busy roadway on the south edge of Rochester will be closed to traffic for the next five months.
Starting Monday, traffic will be detoured off of Olmsted County Road 1 from Highway 52 south to the intersection with Olmsted County Road 101, which is currently undergoing a reconstruction project. The Olmsted County Public Works Department says County Road 1 project will involve the removal of the existing pavement, widening the shoulders, and paving a new concrete surface.
It is being closely coordinated with the County Road 101 project, which will include the installation of a new roundabout at the intersection of the two rural highways. The official detour will take motorists east on Highway 52 to the Marion Road exit and then south on County Road 11 before heading west back to County Road 1 on County Road 111.
The $2.5 million project is scheduled to be completed by November.
