This could become super handy when shopping for the holidays!

I don't know about you, but one of my biggest pet peeves when shopping anywhere is constantly looking for a place to park. Most of the time I'll just pull up to the entrance so my wife and kid can get out so they're not forced to walk a mile to enter the front doors that way.

But after reading about this brilliant new phone app, I might not complain (as much) the next time we travel to the largest mall in the U.S. to shop.

According to GO MN, you can reserve a parking spot right by the main entrance to the mall through the app MyPark.

Launched October 26, premium parking spots are already available in both the East and West parking garages according to the company. And if you're like me and you like to plan ahead, the app lets you reserve up to six months in advance!

Here's how it works: It's $6 for up to two hours, then an additional $3 per hour added. The app will automatically renew your time so you never have to worry about running out of time or overpaying the app.

Mall of America is the first mall in the Midwest to get MyPark, but the company says it plans to expand to more malls according to KSTP.

Not that it's impossible to park at the Apache Mall (outside of the holidays), but I wouldn't mind if this became available here in Rochester soon as well! I'd still dislike shopping, but at least if I knew I could roll up like a boss to reserved front row/space parking, I'd hate it much, much less.
