Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - It was a rough weekend for motorcyclists on Minnesota roads. At least one person was killed in a series of crashes involving motorcyclists and one of them interrupted traffic on Highway 52 in Rochester Sunday afternoon.

The State Patrol says 35-year-old Aimee Kiefer of Faribault was attempting to merge onto Highway 52 from Highway 14 East near Apache Mall when she lost control and ended up laying down her motorcycle in the lane of traffic. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to St. Marys Hospital for treatment.

The fatal crash involved alcohol and occurred Friday night in the Brainerd. The State Patrol says 55-year-old Frank Westerlund was killed when his motorcycle rear-ended another motorcycle after the driver was forced to hit the brakes hard.
