More Lane and Sidewalk Closures for Downtown Rochester Projects
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News - An already torn up portion of downtown Rochester became a little bit more difficult to navigate today.
Crews from Weis Builders have been authorized by the city to put up barriers to close the parking lanes and sidewalks adjacent to the property at the corner of First Avenue and Fourth Street Southeast. Chain-link fencing is being erected to allow space for the construction of the new 324 Apartment project. The lane and sidewalk closures are expected to be in place into next year.
On Monday, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction and the east parking lane on First Avenue Northwest from Civic Center Drive to Third Street will be eliminated to provide space for the construction of the Civic Center Hotel project at the former American Legion property.
In addition, Ryan Companies plans to close First Avenue Southwest between the Peace Plaza and Center Street on Monday and Tuesday next week to allow crews to install scaffolding for the Wells Fargo Building renovation project. The sidewalk along the east side of First Avenue will also be closed.
As always, and as trends and drivers are advised to use caution while traveling around and through construction zones.
