Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - Additional human remains were discovered on Saturday along the Mississippi River in Wabasha County. The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Department received a call late Saturday afternoon reporting some partial human remains had been found about 100 feet from the shoreline of the river just north of Wabasha.

Deputies sent to the scene recovered a human torso and leg with a boot attached to the leg. Last month, a human leg with a boot attached was found in some debris along the river in an area south of Wabasha. The Sheriff’s Department is still waiting for the results of DNA testing on those remains.

There is speculation both sets of remains may be from a 61-year-old Pepin Wisconsin man who was reported missing in late April. David Sheridan had indicated he was taking his sailboat out and the empty vessel was found the next morning along the shore of the lake just south of Lake City.
