Minnesota’s Best Dive Bar Is Only An Hour From Rochester
There's something special about drinking a cold beer at a bar that looks like it hasn't been updated since the mid '80s - a.k.a. the dive bar. Because drinking at a scuzzy watering hole builds character, that's why!
Thrillist put together a list of the Best Dive Bars in America, with the top honor in Minnesota going to St. Paul's The Arcade Bar, which I actually hadn't heard of until now. But it sounds pretty great. Despite recently being "quasi-renovated," the bar still contains the dive bar essentials of an old-school neon sign, wooden beer-cooler doors, a juke box, and a pool table. Their menu also looks delicious, featuring Slim Jim's, microwavable burgers and sandwiches, or frozen pizzas.
Making this place even more legitimate? They don't have a stinkin' website. But they do have a Facebook page if you want to find out more about them.
I seriously need to check this place out. Important Note: Don't drink and drive!
