Minnesota Distillery Will Compete On Discovery Channel Show, ‘Moonshiners Master Distiller’
A distillery in Minnesota will compete on an upcoming episode of the Discovery Channel show, 'Moonshiners Master Distiller'.
If you've never seen the show, the synopsis is:
America's top legal and outlaw distillers go head-to-head in the ultimate booze-making competition, to see who has what it takes to join the ranks of the greats and win the title of master distiller.
'Master Distiller' is actually a spin-off show of 'Moonshiners' that premiered on Discovery back in 2011. That show is about "a group of surviving moonshiners joining forces to fight for their way of life, before it's gone forever". The judges for this current show include:
- Tim Smith, who has been on 'Moonshiners' and has appeared on and off since season 1.
- Mark Ramsay, who joined 'Moonshiners' on season 2.
- Eric 'Digger' Manes, who joined 'Moonshiners' a little later than the other two in season 4.
Norseman Distillery in Minneapolis announced on their Facebook page that their very own head distiller Lauren Murphy will be on the competition show. The episode will air on Wednesday March 23rd, 2022.
Norseman Distillery was actually the first legal distillery in Minneapolis since the prohibition and opened up back in 2013. They also host a few events like trivia, Improv, and even a 'Deluxe Cocktail Workshop'. In the workshop you can improve your bartending skills, learn some new magic and learn "lovely libations" from the talented bartending team.
Below is a clip of one of my favorite episodes, where three moonshiners try to wow the judges by making the finest apple pie moonshine this side of the Mississippi.
