Mayo Civic Center Shooting Ruled a Suicide
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - With hundreds of people at the Mayo Civic Center Friday attending the Festival of Trees and other events, several Rochester police officers rushed to a site outside the building to check reports of a shooting.
They arrived around 4:00 PM to find a man dead and within a short while, determined he had shot himself.
Initially, there was discussion about implementing a lockdown at the civic center but it was decided it would not be necessary.
A police spokesman says the 25-year-old man had been living in Rochester but did not have a permanent address.
