Man’s Best Drinkin’ Buddy? Busch Releases Doggy Brew
Anheuser-Busch yesterday rolled out a new beverage meant for man's best friend. Busch beer launched its doggy brew line, made from pork bone broth, on National Dog Day. While it might look like a brown Busch beer can, we are really paws-itive that the canned beverage is just for your dog.
According to the Busch Dog Brew website, how else would you sell something like this in 2020, the dog brew is "an all-natural product and contains only fresh ingredients. Made with vegetables, herbs, spices, water, and pork broth to provide your best buddy with a nutritious and tasty snack that helps to promote a healthy digestive system. Bone broth is also a great way for dogs who struggle to eat solid food to get all of their extra nutrients." The website also points out what they put into the dog brew, as if someone has had a few too many might reach in the fridge and pop a top on fido's brew without a thought.
The dog brew isn't harmful to humans, but the website says it bland in taste as the beverage was made for the dogs "refined" pallet. I don't know about your dog, but mine enjoys eating goose poop whenever he gets a chance, so saying refined might be a bit of an overstatement.
For those wondering, yes alcohol is dangerous for dogs, which is why Busch recommends keeping the nectar of the gods for you, and using the nectar of the dogs for your pooch.
